ABOUT US
The first US patent for a polyethylene plastic portable restroom was
issued in the 1960's to George Harding, who was a co-founder of
PolyJohn Enterprises Corporation along with Ed Cooper and George
Hiskes. Once these three founders got together they bought a plastic
manufacturing company on an Indian reservation in Canada, named
Rama Plastics, and this is where they first began manufacturing PolyJohn
restrooms.
PolyJohn has been instrumental in developing the market for
polyethylene toilets in the US and abroad. It was not until 1988 that
PolyJohn had two manufacturing plants, Ontario, Canada and Whiting,
Indiana, USA and a new distributor in Europe. This early distributor was
based in England and soon became PolyJohn UK headed by Vernon Hills
in 1992.
However PolyJohn UK was expanding around the globe with customers
throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, South Africa and South America. PolyJohn
UK was now becoming truly International and in 2001 had a new
manufacturing plant in Brazil, South America, headed by Marcelo Massa. In
2002 PolyJohn UK became PolyJohn International Ltd.
with it's head office in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England. In the past few
years PolyJohn International has distributors throughout the world, with
PolyJohn France and PolyJohn Iberica being formed in Europe and the
likes of Formit Services Pty in Australia as PolyJohn's latest addition.
